---On April 21, Mr. Liu Changmin, an
academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited
HRC. Director Ms. Cheng Xialei, Deputy Director Mr. Xu
Jincai, and some other HRC staff. welcomed Mr. Liu and
held a meeting with him.
At the meeting, Ms. Cheng Xialei extended
a warm welcome to Mr. Liu on behalf of HRC and reported
on HRC's briefing and the work conducted in recent years.
Mr. Liu granted high compliment and
appreciation on HRC's achievements. He said that Zhejiang
province is abundant in marine resources, and this time,
the "Zhejiang Coastal Region" Project Investigation
Group of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), consisting
of 65 academicians, experts and scholars in total, conducted
researches and investigations on marine economy development.
Reports on specific subjects have been completed and submitted
to the relevant department of the State Council, which
will play a significant role in developing the marine
economy in Zhejiang, leading to a comprehensive, coordinated
and sustainable economic and social development of the
whole province. Mr. Liu suggested that, HRC can carry
out related work in the development and utilization of
ocean energy, so as to contribute to development of marine
economy in Zhejiang province.
